OUR HISTORY

About the Foundation

Heywad Foundation is non-profit/ non-partisan organisation and is working on various issues related to Women Development, Art and Culture Development, Health, Education and Leadership Skills with an innovative approach. We work on critical ideas to meet the challenges of violent extremism, anti-democratic campaigns and impediments to social development. We engage with youth, students of universities, women, artists, teachers and culture practitioners for taking forward the objectives mentioned above.

Health

HEYWAD strives to create a healthy socio-cultural environment, runs health awareness campaigns for children and women, runs awareness campaigns on epidemics, focuses on awareness comings regarding cardiac diseases and diabetes in the rural areas of Pakhtunkhwa.

Education

HEYWAD strives to arrange teachers’ training in critical pedagogy, run enrolment campaigns, write policy papers on education, arrange educational counselling for teen age students and advocate for infrastructural development in Pakhtunkhwa especially less developed areas.

Youth Leadership

HEYWAD organises youth leadership trainings, arranges study circles for youth on various pressing issues, organises skill development workshops for young people, arranges sports festivals and job fairs for the youth of Pakhtunkhwa.

Women Development

HEYWAD establishes skills development centres for women, runs campaigns for women constitutional rights, strives for inclusion of women in all walks of life, strives to develop cottage industry in rural areas and organises workshops for women to develop their skills in modem technology, digital media and social media.

Art Development

HEYWAD organises culture fairs, develops data base of artists and artisans, organises exhibition to showcase works of artists, promotes street theatre, holds poetry recital sessions (Mushairas) and develops centres for performing arts like music and folklore. HEYWAD also strives to include culture education (Community Culture, Productive Culture, Creative Culture and Mother Language) in the public schools curriculum.
